To choose a profession was not for me a matter of choosing science and then deciding on a field within it. It simultaneously challenges one intellectually and physically, draws one to the field in interesting places. After exposure to some scientific fields, I found myself asking questions about the mind that seemed possible to answer. For example, when I was 17, I found a swarm of honey bees hanging from a tree branch and brought them home in a simple hive. Watching these insects closely each evening after school, I soon found myself mesmerized by the intricate behaviors of the individual bees and by the peace of their community. That thousands of insects could live together so closely and harmoniously, and could build delicate combs filled with delicious honey, was an almost miraculous wonder that left a deep impression. This experience, more than any other, ignited my interests in doing researches about life. Meanwhile, to pursue a scientific career needs me to pay a lot. I don’t like dealing with people. I don’t like boredom, although I’m patient. These conditions exclude most occupations except arts and sciences. What’s more, science is a limitless challenge, only who with creative minds and the determination to solve one problem can he make great achievements. Moreover, to pursue a scientific career needs one to be sensitive about surrounding things and devote himself in working. As what I take for granted, never there be a vital discovery without efforts. However, nothing is more rewarding than a scientific discovery. Everyone who had it was fascinated by the immense joy and satisfaction. Though there’s still a long way to go, I will insist on enriching my knowledge.
