Human resource management (HRM) interventions focus on individuals in the organization. The following are some examples of these types of interventions: Developing hiring and selection procedures that attract people with the KSAs needed by the organization (as discussed in Chapter 4) Designing jobs that increase employee satisfaction Developing performance-management systems that develop individuals for future needs in the organization Developing diversity programs that blend employees from various backgrounds into cohesive work units for the organization Developing reward systems (discussed in Chapter 6) that provide incentives for employees who exceed expectations
