TraumaIt maybe prudent here to take a quick peep at the world of trauma, which can lead from a stressful situation and can be referred to as traumatic exposure. This situation can be the result of a one-off, or can be a series of things that the person subject to it deems to be traumatic. Note that it does not need to be traumatic to all people, just in the eye of the beholder;and can consist of what some might see as everyday events. Also, there does not need to be traumatic things present, it can be perceived(so-called filling in the blanks) .Primary trauma can occur when the subject has direct exposure themselves. Secondary trauma is when the subject relives whatever has happened, or been reported, through the eyes of others, causing themselves to experience the trauma as if it were happening on a primary level. One of the more well-known uses of the term is post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) , but it does not always follow that exposure to trauma leads to PTSD. You should note that the diagnosis of PTSD requires a specialist and, although the term is often used, the prevalence rates of PTSD are very low.
