"The Watchman in the Wheatfield" is the only novel by the American writer Jerome David Salinger, who confines the story to the three-day period when Holden Caulfield, a 16-year-old high school student, leaves school and wanders around New York, and draws on the way of writing in the world of consciousness to explore the inner world of a teenager. Anger and anxiety are the two main themes of this book, the hero's experience and thought in the youth caused a strong resonance, by the reader, especially the majority of middle school students warmly welcomed.
