1. Why does Aesop consider a cream masque instead of a sheet mask -which Asian customers like the most?Sublime Replenishing Night Masque could very well be considered our version of a sheet mask. We’ve all noticed the popularity of sheet masks, especially over the past few years—and it’s true that these are often made of cotton or hydrogel, which may be compostable as pure materials. However, we are committed to improving the environmental impact of our own packaging components. From our earliest days, we’ve sought to tread as lightly as possible, and to use packaging that is both simple and functional, with minimal waste. Sustainability remains a vital consideration in all we do, particularly when it comes to product development. And so, after weighing up various packaging options during the development of Sublime Replenishing Night Masque, we decided that a recyclable glass jar would be the ideal vessel to house the formulation. It’s a more environmentally friendly option than single-use plastic sachets, and contains adequate product for many applications.
