Researches had contrasted on the area where the performance is high [1-2] before 1990’s. The great advance in compressor efficiency was due to the CFD development and advance experimental studies [3-7]. The optimization procedures [9, 10], which integrated initial meanline to finial three-dimensional design, have helped compressor designers to perform design better. Recently, new designs are focused on the low cost, low weight, high marketability, and good efficiency at both design and off design points. For industry compressors, the market needs new products development better, faster, and cheaper. Although CFD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methodology improvements [9-11] had improved the compressor efficiency, there is still a considerable room for further development of current centrifugal compressor in both performance and reliability. CFD, FEA, optimization and prototype test are very time consuming tasks. In compressor design, the empirical rules and design experience are important guidelines to reduce complex calculations and tests. Little information is available in literatures to describe design experience data. This paper presented design data from author’s past designs. The purpose of the paper is to help compressor designers to consider the lower cost and innovative design in the initial phase of compressor design by using experience data.
