In this paper, we fully follow the historical development of the periodic table of elements, select typical elements and their compounds in the periodic table on the basis of extensive reference and analysis of relevant literatures, integrate the development and trends of related materials science in production and life, pay attention to the applied research in the corresponding fields in Zhongshan, where students choose materials, and highlight the organic connection between the division of the periodic table of elements and the periodic law of elements. In the traditional two-dimensional teaching mode of "configuration", the space-time concept is skillfully infiltrated, so that the whole teaching is more three-dimensional and full, which better stimulates students' interest in learning and enriches their cognitive vision, so that the application of periodic table of elements and periodic law of elements not only stays on paper, but also is reflected in the application and development of related materials disciplines.
