Abstract: through the field experiment in the saline alkali soil experimental base of Yinchuan garden farm in Ningxia, the effects of chemical fertilizer reduction combined with bio organic fertilizer on soil chemical properties, soil microorganisms and their activities, growth and quality of Lycium barbarum were studied. The results showed that the reduction of chemical fertilizer combined with bio organic fertilizer had obvious effect on reducing soil pH, total salt, alkalinity and bulk density. The amount of soil bacteria, nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, urease and alkaline xylanase activities were significantly increased, and the number of soil fungi and actinomycetes was decreased. Reduction of chemical fertilizer combined with bio organic fertilizer treatment can effectively promote the growth of plant height and crown width of Lycium barbarum, and has certain effect on increasing the fresh fruit yield and 100 grain weight of Lycium barbarum. Biological organic fertilizer combined with chemical fertilizer can improve the utilization rate of chemical fertilizer, repair the saline alkali soil environment, improve the soil quality, promote the growth of Lycium barbarum, and improve the quality of Lycium barbarum.<br>Keywords: bio organic fertilizer; chemical fertilizer; soil microorganism; Lycium barbarum; saline alkali land;<br>
