Pipework Manufacture and Site WorkGeneral All previous sections of the Specification shall also apply where appropriate to this Section.All stainless steel sheet, pipes and fittings must have been stocked separately from any carbon steel.These specifications should be read in conjunction with the appropriate Company drawingsDefinitions:Nominal size (DN) – A numerical designation of size which is common to all components in a piping system.Nominal Pressure (PN) – A numerical designation of pressure rating which is a convenient round number for reference purposes.PipeThe material type and grade shall be as specified on the appropriate Company drawings. All pipes shall be manufactured to provide a continuous smooth bore and assembled with the minimum number of joints.Each pipe shall be clearly identified with a permanent pipe number mid-way along the length of the pipe or assembly. The number shall be formed, in characters 25 mm high, using weld. The specific identification numbers shall be shown on the drawings.The nominal size of a pipeline shall be as specified on the drawings. Unless specified otherwise, pipes up to and including 150 DN (6”) shall be manufactured from Schedule 10 thickness pipe unless specified otherwise.
