In the discussed walking re-education equipment,the treadmill speed is controlled by a feedback loopwith use of a sensor that measures the swing angleof the rope. The control system should ensure thatthe treadmill operates in such a way that will guarantee the smallest possible swing angle. However, thespeed should be changed in a manner that will notexpose the persons doing the workout to any danger.Thus, excessive acceleration of the treadmill belt isundesirable.
