The actual energy dissipation capacity of the joints was compared using the cumulative energy dissipation index. The actual energy dissipation is the accumulated value of the envelope area A1 of the hysteresis loop corresponding for each loading displacement. The accumulated value ∆a of the corresponding displacement is determined and is normalized by the yield displacement ∆y. Relationships between cumulative energy dissipation and cumulative relative displacement of each joint for the left and right beams are shown in Figures 23 and 24.
