For HTPEMFC application, MEA was fabricated with porous polybenzimidazole membranes doped with phosphoric acid and the catalyst layer was made of Pt/C, PBI, and PVDF (230:12:7 w/w). This well-designed MEA structure could enhance mass transfer in the gas diffusion layer, leading to a better fuel cell performance. The fabricated MEA was tested at 150 C with dry hydrogen and oxygen gas at ambient pressure for both anode and cathode feeds.The 200 h constant current density test demonstrated that porous PBI was an alternative membrane material for HTPEMFCs.
