As the data analysis results shown: (1) As the limited notch diameter was fixed, the vertical distance between root and limited notch was decreasing gradually. (2) When the hopper taper was fixed, as diameter of limited notch was increasing, the limited position is closer to limited notch, if scaly bud is downward, it pronounces the length of scaly bud extending is longer, if scaly bud is upward, it pronounces the distance between root and limited notch is smaller, the root is more likely to extend from limited notch. (3) Ⅰ-type of Jinxiang garlic have characteristics of short scaly bud and small root width. When θ≤35°, a small funnel taper limits the moving space of inverted seed, so that scaly bud of most seed cannot extend from limited notch while the extended part of a few of seeds cannot be detected. When θ≥50°, the force of wall of funnel with bigger taper to seed disappeared, scaly bud had phenomenon of scaly bud declining or inverting caused the length of scaly bud extending is decreasing. When d≤5 mm, scaly bud cannot extend from limited notch, when d closed to 15 mm, because of the diameter of limited notch is too bigger, the root of seed with scaly bud is upward extended from limit notch and make sensor wrong detecting. (4) For Ⅱ-type Jinxiang garlic, when d≥7.5 mm, θ≥45°, the scaly bud can extend from limited notch, when d≥10 mm, θ≥50°, the root can extend from limited notch. (5) For Lanling garlic, when d≥5 mm, θ≥40°, the scaly bud can extend from limited notch, it is depend on the characteristic of scaly bud is long, when d≥10 mm, θ≥50°, the root extend from limited notch. According to analysis above, the determination of structure parameters of funnel should avoid too large limited notch diameter and funnel taper.
