Teaching evaluation, as a powerful yardstick to test the effectiveness of teaching, has always been one of the research topics that researchers in the educational field attach importance to and discuss hotly. As an indispensable part of basic education, the soundness and perfection of English evaluation system will directly affect the effectiveness of English teaching and the healthy and all-round development of students. This paper seeks to analyze the existing problems in the evaluation of English teaching in high school, analyzes and summarizes the shortcomings existing in the current English teaching evaluation system based on the current high school English curriculum standards, and puts forward targeted improvement strategies, with a view to providing some valuable references for further improving the English education evaluation system.
