In an attempt to provide a more comprehensive understanding, this paper aims to examine the combined effect of changes in brain functioning (biological) and social adaptations (environmental) on stress regulation as a result of music playing. Through exploration of the underlying mechanisms of stress response and identification of biological and social factors influencing resilience to stress, this research hopes to provide insight in which parents and faculties can support students through their academic journey by looking into potential methods (through music engagement) to improve their ability to cope with stress and academic overwhelm.
