A specified amount of the oil to be tested is applied to a square test specimen having the dimensions 300 x 300 mm (Section 5.3.). Prior to this, a small borehole is made in one corner of the test specimens which aids in hanging up the specimen in the testing stand. After the application of oil on all the tested specimens, they are stored for one hour horizontally at room temperature. For each oil,3 test specimens are taken. A correspondingly sized filter paper is laid under the test specimens. Afterward the drip-off time of the oil is measured from the lower plate corner – first drops. This time is then compared with the comparable products time (see above).
