The symptoms of these lesions are described as small red or purple spots on the surface of the hands and feet caused by subcutaneous hemorrhage, and some blisters or pustules in the marginal area of erythema and edema, which eventually lead to frostbite-like skin symptoms on the surface of the extremities. This symptom is called "new crown toe" and usually lasts for about 12 days. The clinicopathological symptoms include lymphoid infiltrations around blood vessels and epidermis, subcutaneous blisters with small vessel lymphocytic vasculitis, rare microthrombosis, and overlying epidermal necrosis.
