Fiber composites containing continuous fibers are particularly attractive as structural materials because of the high strength and modulus of the fibers, which carry most of the load. A continuous carbon fiber polymer matrix composite is an example. Reinforcement of concrete with reinforcement (called "reinforcement") is reinforced concrete, another example (even if reinforcement is not called fiber). The attraction of fiber composites is that they can be cut by choosing the direction of the fibers. A common structure is that fibers exist in the form of layers. A layer, also known as a sheet, is a sheet of fibers in the same direction on the sheet plane. Each sheet has thousands of fibers along its thickness. Because each fiber bundle consists of thousands of fibers, this composite material consists of several layers, so the fiber orientation between layers is different.
