The development of mankind is a process of constantly adapting to the natural environment. <br>Especially in the human society before industrial civilization, due to the limitation of social productivity, it was not possible to drastically transform the natural environment, so a series of adaptive survival strategies were derived during the long development process. From a modern perspective, these survival strategies have their technological backwardness, but they can provide a new perspective and logic for the sustainable development problems facing humanity today. <br>This study focuses on the adaptive strategies in Eastern and Western cultural heritage, and reinterprets and defines them in a modern context, in order to provide new methods of sustainable development.
