Treatment for sarcopenic dysphagia includes dysphagia rehabilitation and treatment of sarcopenia(Wakabayashi 2014). The core components of dysphagia rehabilitation are oral health care,rehabilitative techniques, and food modification (Wakabayashi 2014). Sarcopenia should be treatedby rehabilitation nutrition, because people with sarcopenic dysphagia experience activity-, nutrition-,and disease-related sarcopenia of the generalized and swallowing muscles. Rehabilitationalone cannot treat nutrition-related sarcopenia, while nutrition care management alone cannot treatactivity-related sarcopenia.
