2.3.2 Design of slider-crank mechanismThe main function of the garlic seed orienting device was to drive the hopper to achieve longitudinal reciprocating motion through a mechanical device. This function was realized by centric slider-crank mechanism composed of rotating disc, connecting rod, hopper carrier and cylindrical slide rail, and the working principle was shown in Fig.3. Among them, the rotating disc was the crank for active part, the connecting rod was the part connecting the active part and the slider, and the tapered hopper was the slider which reciprocated linearly along the linear axis. Considering that the extreme angle θ of the eccentric crank slider mechanism was not 0°, there was a quick return characteristic during the movement. Thus, the centric slider-crank mechanism was designed to eliminate the quick return characteristic.
