Check engine oil levelEngine oil level can be checked through the sightglass (1) located onto clutch cover.Oil level should be between the marks on the sightglass. If the level is low, top up with engine oil.Ducati recommends you use Shell Advance 4T Ultra15W-50 (JASO: MA2 and API: SN) oil.Remove the oil filler cap (2) and top up until the oilreaches the required level. Refit the filler plug (2).ImportantEngine oil and oil filters must be changed by aDucati Dealer or authorised Service Centre at theintervals specified in the scheduled maintenancechart reported in the Warranty Card.To check the oil level correctly, carefully follow theinstructions below.1) The level must be checked with warm engine, so ifit is not performed after riding for at least 20/30minutes you will need to warm up the engine.If, on the other hand, the engine is cold, start it and letit warm up until the cooler fans start two consecutivetimes (the engine oil must be perfectly warm to flowalong the lines and reach the engine sump).During this warming up phase, the bike can be left onthe side stand.2) Turn off the engine and wait 1015 minutes to allowthe oil to flow completely inside the sump.3) Position the bike with both wheels on a flat groundand in straight position.4) Then, check the engine oil through the sight glass.5) If the oil level is below the middle line between theMIN and MAX marks, add oil until reaching themaximum level indication
