1) First, I copy the untabbed pages as separate, uncollated, stacks. Then, I use a paper cutter to cut those pages. Next, I make collated (makes a set) copies of all of the tabbed pages for each student. Students then cut those tabbed pages and assemble with the pre-cut, untabbed pages. Finally, one or two staples is perfect for securing the pages together. 2) I like to use the cover page of each part of speech as a start to a mini-lesson. We usually work together to write in some examples of that part of speech. Then, I have students go on a “word hunt” in their reading books for more examples of that part of speech.
