Pregnancy and birth are physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing, so when you resume your exercise routine during recovery, it is important to go back to basics. This may make sense to the beginner exerciser but may be a challenge for the intermediate and advanced exerciser. Most women are excited about the prospect of not being pregnant anymore, of getting their body back and of feeling like themselves again. New moms are drawn to activities such as boot camp and high-intensity interval activities because they think that will help them feel strong again and get them there quickly. However, we urge you to take it slow, rebuild your inner core, and progress back gradually to these activities. We are not saying you can never do boot camp again. We are saying that boot camp should not be what you use to get your body back.
