Now a system is itself a complex concept but it seems reasonable to treat the two tasks separately since there appears to be a fundamental difference in the role instinct plays in each of them: if basic concepts emerge from innate preconceptions, only experi- ence stimulated by innate curiosity, can locate their members in a space-time system.
