Lenses on the Pocket 6K are divided into three different focus range types and in the SET LENS RANGE page the AFX uses a simple test for you to identify the range of your lens.Pressing the A button on the R1 will cycle around the three possible types (1, 2 and 3) and then pressing the B button on the R1 will perform the test for the selected type. The test consists of the AFX moving the lens to its minimum focus position and then issuing three additional focus movements at short intervals with a Splash Message on the screen indicating which movement has been sent at each increment. To determine the range type of your lens, you should observe the camera display and determine how many of the three focus changes were observable. If your lens has a focus position indicator window you can also use that to determine the number of focus changes that it responded to.If you only observed one focus change then it is type 1, if you observed two then it is type 2 and if you observed all three then it is type 3.You can run the test as many times as necessary to determine the type and cycle between types using the A button on the R1 and re-test with the B button. When you are satisfied that you have identified the correct type for your lens then you store this by pressing the D button on the R1 when the required type is the active one and you will then proceed to the main calibration process.
