CNC milling machine is one of the important processing equipment in CNC machine tools. The tool changing efficiency of its automatic tool changing manipulator directly affects the machining efficiency of CNC milling machine, thus affecting the processing cost. In this paper, the overall structure, characteristics, automatic tool change system and application conditions of the machining center are studied. Combined with the requirements of tool magazine and tool changer, the tool change process can be realized automatically under the control of CNC program, and the tool change device is designed. The designed tool magazine is a disk-shaped structure installed along the axis of the tool magazine. Tool changers use robots to exchange tools. Combined with the actual situation of the factory, the automatic tool changing system can flexibly supplement the tool changing program under the control of numerical control.<br>On the whole, this paper mainly carried out the following work: on the basis of determining the design requirements of the machining center tool changing manipulator, analyzed the movement form needed by the manipulator, and designed the overall structure; then, introduced the design of the pneumatic gripper, mounting plate, sleeve and guide rod; on the basis of determining the movement mode, introduced the design of the device The selection of power source and the design of cutter head for tool changing manipulator are described.<br>Key words: automatic tool changing system; tool changing manipulator; design; tool magazine system<br>
