abstract<br>Objective: To explore the effect of Xiaoxianxiong Decoction on the expression and blood glucose of the model rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: 46 rats were divided into control group (10 rats) and model group (36 rats) after one week of adaptive feeding, and the control group was fed with common feed; the model group was fed with high fat and high sugar feed, and the drug was given after the model was successfully established at the end of the 9th week of feeding. The rats were divided into Xiaoxianxiong Decoction group (4 weeks of Xiaoxianxiong Decoction), metformin group (4 weeks of metformin) Weeks) and the model group (both the model group and the control group were given saline for 4 weeks). In addition to the control group, 12 rats in each group were observed. At the 13th week, the changes of various representations of the four groups were observed and an oral glucose tolerance experiment was conducted at the end of the 13th week. The blood glucose of the four groups at 0 h, 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h before the administration of glucose was detected and AUC value was calculated and compared. Results: (1) compared with the model group, the number of plump and fat rats in Xiaoxianxiong Decoction group decreased, the number of fatigue and fatigue decreased, the number of matted fur decreased, the number of disordered grain decreased, the number of dark red in eyes, ears, nose, lips and tongue decreased, the number of normal light red increased, the number of hard stool and yellow decreased, and the pollution and dark red in paw tail also decreased significantly. Xiaoxianxiong decoction can significantly improve the rat's characterization. Compared with the model group, metformin group can also slightly improve the rat's characterization, but it is not as effective as Xiaoxianxiong Decoction group. (2) Compared with the control group, the blood glucose values of 0 h, 0.5 h, 1 h and 2 h in the model group, Xiaoxianxiong Decoction group and metformin group were all increased. Compared with the model group, the blood glucose values of 0.5 h, 1 h and 2 h in the Xiaoxianxiong Decoction group were lower than those in the model group, and the area under the total glucose tolerance curve was also significantly lower than that in the model group. Conclusion: Xiaoxianxiong decoction can improve the clinical symptoms of TCM in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus, improve the tolerance of glucose, inhibit the absorption of glucose, improve the metabolism of glucose, and prevent the development of the disease.<br>Key word<br>Xiaoxianxiong Decoction; phlegm heat syndrome; characterization; type 2 diabetes mellitus; glucose tolerance<br>
