Laser treatments to infiltrate the Ag into the Al2O3 coating have been performed using two different lasers: a ns n-IR Yb fiber laser and a ps UV one. The fisrt one has the following characteristics: a maximum power of 20 W, wavelength of 1 mm, spot size of 36 μm, pulse width up to 200 ns. The objective of this laser treatment is to infiltrate the Ag into the Al2O3 coating. In order to control the heat affected zone precisely as thin as possible and to improve the inflitration Al2O3/Ag process, the UV laser (ROFIN-SINAR LASER, PowerLine Pico 10-355) was used. This laser emits at 355 nm, with a maximum power of 3 W, a pulse width of 300 ps and its beam has a diameter of 17 μm.
