To avoid temporary image retention (a.k.a. image sticking) causing false uniformity failures in display tests, such as MP9, the dwell time after display usage should be 4x the usage time before a display test. For example, after a display is on for 3 minutes, the display must dwell for >12 minutes before subjected to a display Test. This criteria is waived if only Red, Green, Blue, White, and Gray solid images are displayed, or there is timing mechanism or method to guarantee no burn-in / image retention from high contrast patterns by SOP.
