Amplification is employed in the<br>following two situations: (1) when adding words can make the semantic ambiguity<br>more clear; (2) when the adjustment of structure because of the application of<br>amplification makes the TT more in line with the TT receivers’ situations (Ye Zinan,<br>2013: 68). Therefore, under the guidance of the coherence rule, the use of<br>amplification can accurately express the original meaning and make the target text<br>more fluent.
