These results indicate that root RVA parameters might be correlated with starch content. A comparison of the two cultivars has shown that there are similar trends in ATP content, ATPase activity, root dry matter content, starch content, UDPGPPase activity, and ADPGPPase activity, but opposing trends in root soluble sugar content, protein content, amylose content, RVA, SSS activity, and GBSS activity under MPF treatment.
