In terms of rate capability as shown in Fig. 6(d)e(f), thedischarge curves of the three cathodes at various C rates arecompared. It is noteworthy that the discharge specific capacity athigh C-rates was significantly improved for LNMO-LATP-650compared with the uncoated samples. The LNMO-LATP-650 electrode exhibits good rate behavior and displays a discharge capacityof 123.9 mAh$g 1 at 5 C-rates. In contrast, the rate performance ofLNMO without LATP coating is much poor, it presents a dischargecapacity of only 102.0 mAh$g 1 when the current density increasesto 5C. By comparing rate ability of LNMO-LATP-650 to LNMO-LATP-550, it can be noted that LNMO-LATP-650 with higher crystallinityand thinner thickness coating layer delivers better performance.This could be because the higher crystallinity and thinner thicknessof LATP provide more unhindered, stable and shorter lithium-iontransport channel leading to better electrochemical performance.Kulkarni et al. [26] have shown that Liþ conductivity of LATP glassceramic at room temperature increased rapidly with heat treatment temperature from 550 to 650 C.
