According to Kong and Lee (2004) the choice to not breastfeed often results from a lack of support or information. Arora and colleagues (2000) surveyed 123 women regarding their sources of infant feeding information, and found that the largest percentage of women (33.9%) reported family as their primary source of infant feeding information; other reported primary sources of information included health professionals (physicians, nurses, prenatal classes) (25.7%), media (books, magazines, television) (17.4%), and friends (9.9%).
