At this stage, more advanced than Owen’s introduction to personnel management and Taylor’s scientific management theory is Munsberg’s industrial psychology. He proposes to focus on how to choose the right job to fit in, and he envisions understanding a person’s personality traits through specially designed psychological tests, on this basis, assess whether the person is suitable for the job. Munsberg’s logic is that instead of trying to get the wrong person, it’s better to pick the right person to do the job from the start.
