One Cycle: Kettle filled to 1.7L should be boiled until the max soak temperature of kettle has been reached. 1) Whilst still full of 1.7ltrs of water, and at max soak temperature (end of 10th boil cycle) , drop a kettle from a height of 1.5m (on the edge of kettle base as shown) on to a concrete/solid floor. 3) Inspect kettle. Take Photos after test. The kettle should not fail dangerously i.e. electrically safe. Make a note of any leaks. Take pictures of damaged parts. Following the test the kettle should be filled to max with water and food dye, boiled and then left for 24h on a sheet of white paper to check for any leakage. If the kettle shows no sign of leakage and failed electrically safe it has passed this drop test
