For this case, the contours of the liquid volume fraction, exhibiting the evolution of the interface during the infiltration, are given at selected time instants in Fig. 2 and qualitative temporal variation of the capillary pressure as the main driving force of infiltration of wetting liquids is presented in Fig. 3. In a liquid with constant surface tension (due to isothermal infiltration) and contact angle, the capillary pressure is proportional to the interface curvature. Thus, Fig. 3 also depicts the qualitative variations of interface curvature.
