This module will further explore the concepts, definitions and compilation methods pertaining to the production of statistics on resident / non-resident services transactions. It will, in particular, focus on specific transactions that may raise specific problems of classification or valuation. While the first module, in particular, allowed to give a general definition of the major EBOPS 2010 components, this one will thus focus on specific transactions whose classification might be problematic. This module will also explore issues relating to the valuation, calculation and estimation of exports and imports pertaining to these specific transactions. The next module will tackle the same issues with respect to foreign affiliates’ activity. This module will also examine the treatments required to convert some data collected in other frameworks to statistics on the international supply of services by kind of service, partner and mode of supply. Throughout this module, the importance to refer to international guidelines in order to produce quality, harmonized and internationally comparable statistics will be emphasized.
