The best results (highest ethanol conversion and highest CO2 selectivity) were obtained with the Ch/TiO2/GF catalysts. Nevertheless, it is rather difficult to conclude about a decisive effect of the presence of Mn3O4, compared to TiO2 alone. The quite similar results between TiO2/GF and nanosized manganese oxide containing catalysts suggests that under NTP activated oxidative species are also present on TiO2 surface. The only important difference concerns the residual ozone concentration which is much lower on Ch/TiO2/GF catalyst than on TiO2/GF one, showing that TiO2 surface is less active than MnOx surface in ozone elimination.
