Alloy cast iron and steel camshaft are generally quenched by medium frequency. The principle of induction heating surface quenching is to put the cam of camshaft into the heating coil. Due to the skin effect of electric current, the cam is heated from the outer layer to the inner side, so that the structure of a certain depth in the surface layer is transformed into austenite and then rapidly hardened. At present, 480 camshaft is tempered naturally, and the surface structure of cam is acicular martensite.<br>The surface heat treatment of camshaft can greatly improve the torsional and bending fatigue strength and wear resistance of the parts. Induction hardening has the advantages of small deformation, energy saving, low cost and high labor productivity. The quenching machine can be placed on the cold working production line, which is convenient for production management.<br>
