小说以刻画人物形象为中心，对群众角色的着墨虽不多，但其身上所具备的教学研究意义不容忽视。以部编版九年级上册第六单元中四篇课文作为解读文本，探究群众角色对于推动情节发展、衬托主要人物形象、构建环境底色、深化主题思想的作用，引导学生注意他们的存在，有助于开掘小说阅读教学的新视野。
