This is the generic error issued by the LINGO compiler when it detects asyntax error: In Windows. when you close the error box, the cursor will be on the line where the erroroccurred. Other versions of LINGO will try print out the general area where the error has accurred, but LINGO cannot always pinpoint the exact line. Examine this area for anyobvious syntax rrors. if you are unable to find any obvious errprs. a useful technique is to commert out small sections of the model until the error goes away. This should giveyou a good idea of exactly where the error is occuring. Syntax rrors may also occur it you are not inwoking the correct compiler in LINGO. Most users will choose to build models using the native LINGO syntax. however, someusers may prefer building ther models using LINDO systax. LINGO can compile models witten in ether native LINGO syntax or LINDO syntax INGO chooses the compilerbased on a model's fle extension. LINGO models must have anextension:oflg4 (the default) orIng LINDO models must have an tx extension.
