1 Control, command, and reporting systems11.1 General itemsa. Both the structure of the command and reporting systems in the switch cabinet or at separate operating stations and the operating concept are to be agreed on with the Customer. Names have to be expressed in the language or symbols agreed upon.b. The functional descriptions of the discrete command and display devices are to be placed above or to the left of the devices in question.c. Transducers may not be utilized as mechanical stops.d. If signalling elements have no means of adjustment in or on them, they have to be safeguarded against an unintentional reset (e.g. lock screw, cover). e.g. Pressure switches, and temperature and flow controllers also have to be regarded as being signalling elements.e. If the machinery / system is designed and constructed so as to permit several control sequences or modes of operation with different safety levels (e.g. for setup, maintenance, inspection, manual operation, etc.), then it has to be fitted with an operating mode selection switch that is lockable in every position. Each position of the selection switch must correspond to only one control method or mode of operation.
