a) Resistance of exciter armature and field (room ambient) b) Polarity of exciter field coils c) Megger and high potential test of armature and field (both generator and exciter). d) Air gap measurements (exciter and PMG). e) Exciter field current (no load). f) Generator voltage balance, line to line. g) Unit vibration levels (vertical, horizontal and axial) at no load, 100% and 125% of rated speed. Should include amplitudes for synchronous and non-synchronous components. Vibration limits only apply to 100% speed and below. h) Bearing oil temperature rise. i) Over speed tests at 125% rated speed for 1 minute. j) Direction of rotation and phase sequence. Tests shall be made per IEEE Bulletin 115, Method 1, with the machine rotating in the direction of the arrow on the frame. k) Rotor balance data – record and file mass and phase angle for rotor and provide upon request. l) Combined electrical and mechanical run out data from 500 to 0 rpm in an unimpeded rundown mode shall be recorded on a strip chart recorder when proximity probes are required. m) Shaft magnetism readings shall be recorded and filed in Gauss units and all de-Gaussing procedures (if used) shall be documented when proximity probes are required. Information shall be provided when requested.
