Informative raw cable electrical performance targets are provided to help cable assemblymanufacturers manage the procurement of raw cable. These targets are not part of the USBType-C compliance requirements. The normative requirement is that the cable assemblymeets the performance characteristics specified in Sections 3.7.2, 3.7.4, and 3.7.4.3.The differential characteristic impedance for shielded differential pairs is recommended tobe 90 Ω ± 5 Ω. The single-ended characteristic impedance of coaxial wires is recommendedto be 45 Ω ± 3 Ω. The impedance should be evaluated using a 200 ps (10%-90%) rise time; afaster rise time is not necessary for raw cable since it will make cable test fixturediscontinuities more prominent.3.7.1.1
