DYHARD URAcc57 is used as a very highly active but also latent acceleratorin thermosetting epoxy resin formulations. Its use is particularly suited incombination with micronized dicyandiamide from the DYHARD® CU-Line e.g.DYHARD 100S, or with the dicyandiamide master batches from the DYHARD®MB-Line, e.g. DYHARD D50EP.As DYHARD URAcc57 does not contain halogens it may be preferred forapplications where halogen-free formulations are required. In additionDYHARD URAcc57 is not considered as a dangerous chemical substance, therefore its use under environmental aspects makes this accelerator extremelyadvantageous in terms of product handling and processing. In formulations based on liquid bisphenol-A epoxy resins (EEW 182 – 192) andmicronized dicyandiamide, DYHARD URAcc57 is typically added in amounts ofless than 5 parts per 100 parts of epoxy resin. The optimal ratio stronglydepends on the specific application and process requirements and has to bedetermined individually for each case.Depending on fillers, modifiers and storage temperature, a shelf life of up to onemonth at room temperature may be obtained. Compared to many other ureatype accelerators, DYHARD URAcc57 shows a superior accelerationperformance.Curing with DYHARD URAcc57 as an accelerator is possible even at
