Arc faults are particularly important safety issues in dc microgrids [6]. In most building sectors, 24 V dc distribution is used as an international group standard for LED lighting systems, while ∼300–500 V dc distribution is applied for electrical facilities [7]. For high-power systems, high dc distribution voltages can reduce conduction loss. However, high dc voltages also introduce the potential for electrical arc faults,which can pose serious hazards [8], [9].
