The results of this research indicate that there are differences in teachers’ applying questioning strategies in primary school English reading teaching in the rural-urban fringe. The question types, the way of answering questions, feedback and waiting time are different in different English reading class in the rural-urban fringe. What’s more, it is found that many teachers do not make enough preparation for the reading class.The teachers seldom consider students’ cognitive level and emotional factors when questioning.
