In the future, the TGR and the upstream cascade reservoirs will adopt a joint dispatching method, and the sediment volume downstream of the dam will be kept at a low level. Te continuous fooding and erosion of the river will tend to decrease the low-fow water level, and insufcient water depth in the waterway caused by the drop of the low-fow water level should be controlled and avoided. Te joint dispatching of the TGR and the upper reach cascade reservoirs will play a more prominent role in reducing food peaks, which will reduce pressure on food control measures downstream of the dam. Nonetheless, the current elevation of food water level at the same discharge should be a focus of concern.
