We also created a new status update page status.minepi.com to provide future updates to the community if there is an interruption of service.Why did the app have an outage?Ongoing growth of our community requires continual maintenance of our backend. Yesterday, one of our routine maintenance tasks failed, causing a critical mass of our servers to go down.Why was the app down for so long?When the community was much smaller, we used fewer and smaller servers which made reviving the system much faster. Today, the size of our community requires a much larger number and size of servers, requiring more time to revive the system from an outage.While these types of outages naturally arise with any fast growing online application, the Core Team is doing everything it can to prevent future outages.
